Salary: $41.00 – 45.00 per hour plus O/T plus Super.
Location: Dysart, QLD, Australia.

Our client, a leading Pan-Australian Coach Company are looking for a talented Bus and Coach Mechanic to join its team in their modern workshops in Dysart, QLD

The Role

Permanent position for an experienced Diesel Mechanic

You must have experience on a variety of Coaches and Buses.

This a stand-alone role so you must be comfortable working with no instruction as well as being in a team..

You will be responsible for scheduling maintenance, carrying out preventative maintenance and ongoing repairs to vehicles.

Experience / Qualifications required

• Min 3 years post trade experience / relevant trade Certificate.
• Outstanding troubleshooting / diagnostic skills.
• Electrical and hydraulic fault finding experience.
• HR Licence preferred.
• Good written and oral communication with the ability to liaise with all levels of the organisation.
• Ability to drive and promote OH&S in the workplace.
• Experience on Mercedes, Volvo, Scania, Iveco or UD Buses and Coaches preferred.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.

Ideally the first choice candidate will either be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, or someone holding Permanent Residency. If no local hires are available, then our client will look to International Applicants being sponsored on the 482 (SID) Visa, as per Australian Federal Government Rules.

482 Visa (SID) Sponsorship

If you would like to be considered under a 482 Sponsorship you will require the following under Department of Home Affairs Immigration Requirements: 

• Hold a Recognised International Trade Qualification in Mechanics (Red Seal, City and Guilds, FETAC etc)
• To Hold, or be able to pass a Cert III Trade Assessment (Vetassess or other recognised body) for the Visa application
• Hold an IELTS English Test Certificate (5.0 Minimum in all 4 sections), or be a citizen of UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, or New Zealand, or to have been educated / taught for 5 years in English at secondary / tertiary level,
• Be in a financial position to support your application, and associated costs
• Be able to move to Australia as soon as your Visa is granted (preferred)
