As a Nurse Educator, you will mentor new graduates and help integrate them into our Emergency Department team through a standardized training program. Your work will play a crucial role in supporting nationally recognized emergency services, such as the Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level III NICU. In this position you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive evidence-based practice and professional growth, ensuring caregivers are well-prepared to meet the needs of patients in this high-stakes environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
- California Registered Nurse License (upon hire).
- National Provider BLS Certification – American Heart Association (upon hire).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting within a clinical specialty.
- At least 1 year of experience in adult education, including patient and family education.
- Advanced coursework in clinical specialization and adult education principles.
- Familiarity with performance improvement and research methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing or current enrollment in a master’s program.
- Nursing specialty certification within two years of hire.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement nursing education programs for the emergency department, enhancing staff skills in critical care areas such as trauma, stroke, and pediatric emergencies
- Mentor and train new graduates through structured Transition into Practice programs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote evidence-based practices and drive quality improvement initiatives
- Serve as a consultant, educator, and clinical expert for the medical center, ensuring staff are well-equipped to meet the diverse needs of the patient population
- Provide continuous education for staff in specialized areas like the Stroke Center, Stemi Receiving Center, and NICU, ensuring adherence to national standards and certifications
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in nursing education and clinical care
